Inter Faculty Tournament 2024-25 began on January 23, 2025 at NMAK Pataudi Sports Complex of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI). The tournament is being organized by the Games & Sports Department, JMI from 23rd January to 4thFebruary, 2025. During this tournament more than 1100 students will be participating in 07 different games: Table Tennis (Men & Women), Badminton (Men & Women), Cricket T-20 (Men), Football (Men), Volleyball (Men), Basketball (Men & Women) and Athletics (Men & Women). This tournament makes a return after a one-year hiatus, featuring a total of 13 Teams representing various Faculties and two centres.

Prof. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, JMI inaugurated the tournament as the Chief Guest on 23rdJanuary, 2025 in an impressive opening ceremony held at NMAK Pataudi Sports Complex of the university. The event was honoured by the presence of Guests of Honors including Mohd Mahfuzul Haque, Chairperson of the Sports Committee, JMI, Mr. Syed Abdul Rashid Former National Player (Hockey) & Security Advisor of JMI and Prof. Neelofer Afzal, Dean, Students Welfare, JMI. The ceremony was well-attended by Deans, HoDs, faculty members, non-teaching staff and students of the university.

The Tournament is being organized under the leadership of Prof. Nafis Ahmad, Hony. Director (Games & Sports), JMI, whose tireless efforts were instrumental in bringing the event to fruition. Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar of JMI Prof. Mohd Mahfuzul Haque, Chairperson of the Sports Committee, JMI addressed the participants, urging them to engage in extra-curricular activities alongside their academic pursuits to foster both physical and mental well-being.
The objective of this tournament is to uncover and nurture hidden talents, instill a sense of teamwork and sportsmanship, and promote collaboration while encouraging relationships and communication among students, as well as teaching & non-teaching staff. Such annual events serve as an excellent platform to display a variety of talents and skills, which can contribute positively to the university teams.
