SAIT Indore Marks National Mathematics Day with Student-Centric Academic Activities

Sri Aurobindo Institute of Technology (SAIT), Indore, successfully organized a two-day National Mathematics Day celebration on 22 and 23 December 2025, with sponsorship from the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, Bhopal. The event aimed to strengthen mathematical understanding, creativity, and analytical thinking among engineering students.

Day 1 (22 December 2025) focused on student-centric academic activities designed to promote conceptual clarity and collaborative learning. The sessions included a Linear Algebra–based Treasure Hunt, a Rangoli Competition themed “Ramanujan: Inspiration for Young Mathematicians”, a Debate Competition on “Why Engineering Mathematics is Important”, and a Mathematical Model Presentation under the Young Mathematician Award category titled “Unfolding the Wonders of Mathematics”. The activities witnessed enthusiastic participation and showcased students’ analytical and creative skills.

Day 2 (23 December 2025) commenced with a formal inaugural ceremony, including Lamp Lighting and Saraswati Vandana. The session featured welcome addresses by Dr. Aaquil Bunglowala, Director, and Dr. Anupam Mandloi, Vice Principal, who graced the occasion. A short documentary on Srinivasa Ramanujan set an inspiring academic tone for the day.

The technical sessions included expert lectures by Dr. Anupam Jain on “Ancient Indian Mathematics in Modern Perspective”, highlighting the Indian Knowledge System and emphasizing that “Mathematics is the queen of all subjects.” Mr. Abbas Mhowwala delivered an engaging lecture on “Fascinating Numbers and Geometric Forms”, taking students through the intriguing world of magical numbers, with calendar and day calculations emerging as a key highlight. The sessions concluded with a talk by Dr. Aaquil Bunglowala on “The Role of Mathematics in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.”

The program concluded with prize distribution, presentation of tokens of remembrance, and a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Amit Holkar, Head – Academics. The event was highly appreciated by both students and faculty, marking a successful celebration of National Mathematics Day at SAIT.
