Sri Rawatpura Sarkar Group of Institution conducted webinars under joint auspices of UNICEF and SRU to remove social anomalies during Covid-19 times.

Keep social distancing during the transition period of Covid-19 but do not keep distance of mind from  people.      Doctorsnursespolicescavengers are the angels of  hope, do not create discrimination and distance from them. These views were presented by the speakers in a webinar organized under the joint aegis of Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University and UNICEF. The webinar was attended as keynote speaker Regional Officer of UNICEFJob Zachariah, Dr. Prof. Shobhna Jha and Dr. Chhabiram Matavale. Communications and Development Specialist Abhishek Singh, Health Officer Gajendra Singh were presented.

Keynote speaker Dr. Prof. Shobhana Jha of SRU said that the ongoing discrimination towards Covid patients has increased the distances in the society and this decriminalization needs to be removed. She said that India is a country of youth. But the responsibility of preventing misleading propaganda and misinformation of this disease lies on the shoulders of the youth. She said that due to social media, the youth also do not know the true facts of Covid. In such a situation, the atmosphere of fear can be eliminated only by conducting awareness campaign.


Dr. Chhabiram Matawale of SRU who attended the webinar made the students aware through his poem on Covid. Dr. Matawale said that till 6 months ago no one had heard of Covid’s name, but now when the disease is in the country, do not run away from it but by adopting the right symptoms, preventive measures and effective treatment and telling others Young countries can play a big role in service.

UNICEF regional officer Job Zachariah expressed surprise at the fact that Covid was limited to immunity only. He said that Covid is being spread through droplets the most. But in the absence of awareness, people consider applying masks as a joke. UNICEF Health Officer Gajendra Singh spoke in detail on topics like Kovid-19 through PPT, what are the symptoms, how does it spread, what is prevention, how can prevention etc.


UNICEF Communications and Development Specialist Abhishek Singh answered all the students’ questions. He said that right information about youth disease was reached to the people through community centers, religious institutions, speeches of influential personalities, wall chalking by raising awareness, creating continuity of essential services, preventing stigma and discrimination, using Arogya Setu App.

Teachers, staff and about 200 students of Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University participated in the webinar. The vote of thanks at the end of the webinar was by Shishir Seth of UNICEF. The webinar was coordinated by Madho Singh, Deputy Director (Public Relations), SRU.
