A six-day ATAL Faculty Development Program (FDP) on ‘Robotics and Automation in Advanced Manufacturing and Industry 4.0’ commenced at Medi-Caps University with an inspiring inaugural ceremony. The event was graced by Prof. I. A. Palani, Dean of Research and Development, IIT Indore, along with the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Medi-Caps University, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, the Dean of Engineering, and the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department.

In his keynote address, Prof. Palani emphasized that automation is no longer a choice but a necessity for human civilization. He urged academia and industry to adopt automation widely to stay competitive and innovative in the evolving technological landscape.
The Vice-Chancellor, in his enlightening speech, stressed the importance of balancing technological advancements with societal values. He highlighted that while rapid progress is vital, addressing small but basic human needs should not be overlooked.
The Pro-Vice Chancellor shared valuable insights on the responsible and safe use of technology, emphasizing its role in promoting the welfare of humanity.
The Dean of Engineering elaborated on the exponential growth of robotics and automation, presenting statistical evidence to underscore the importance of staying abreast of technological developments.
Welcoming the participants, the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department highlighted the enthusiastic response received for this FDP, with attendees from esteemed institutions such as IITs, NITs, and government colleges.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the FDP Coordinator, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries and participants for their support and active involvement.
This FDP aims to enhance an in-depth understanding of robotics and automation, equipping educators with the knowledge and tools needed to lead the next wave of innovation in Industry 4.0.
