Kurukshetra University celebrated 68th Foundation Day

Kurukshetra. 11 January. Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra organised a Havan ceremony and an Exhibition on the occasion of University’s 68th Foundation Day in the Crush Hall. The exhibition showcased the achievements of  Kurukshetra University. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva said that as a result of the hard work of the teaching and non teaching staff, Kurukshetra University became the first A++ grade (NAAC accredited) state university of Haryana with a score of 3.56. In the category of autonomous universities, the university attained 8th rank in the country. Prof Sachdeva further said that in the list of top 50 universities among the state universities of the country in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Ministry of Education, Kurukshetra University is ranked 41st out of the four universities of Haryana.

KU has implemented the National Education Policy-2020 with all its provisions not only in the campus but also in all the related colleges first in the country. Deputy Director, Public Relations Department, Dr Jimmy Sharma informed that  some students and faculty members have made Kurukshetra University proud with their achievements. Geeta Zutshi of Haryana was awarded the Padma Shri in 1983 for sports, athlete Krishna Poonia received the Padma Shri in 2011, Mamta Sauda was awarded Padma Shri for mountaineering in 2014, Dr. Jai Bhagwan Goyal for his contribution in literature and education, received the Padma Shri in 2021, educationist Najma Akhtar was awarded Padma Shri in 2022, Prof.  Raghavendra Tanwar was awarded the Padma Shri Award for his contribution to literature and education  in 2022 and folk artist Mahavir Guddu received the Padma Shri in 2024.  During the university’s Foundation Day celebration, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Dean Student Welfare Prof. AR Chaudhri, Prof. Sanjeev Sharma, Director, Youth and Cultural Affairs, Prof. Vivek Chawla, Dr. Saloni Diwan, Prof. DS Rana, Director, Public Relations Department, Prof. Maha Singh Poonia, Deputy Director, Dr. Jimmy Sharma, Prof. Sushila Chauhan, Prof. Brajesh Sawhney, Prof. Kusum Lata, Prof. Sanjeev Arora, Prof. Sunil Dhingra, Prof. SK Chahal, Prof. Neera Raghav, Prof. Jasbir Dhanda, Prof. Neelam Dhanda, Prof. Krishna Devi, Prof. Kiran, Prof. Anil Mittal, Prof. Mohinder Chand, Prof. Anil Gupta, Prof. Sushil Sharma, Prof. Preeti Jain, Prof. Pradeep Kumar, Prof. GP Dubey, Dr. Nirupama Bhatti, Dr. Somveer Jakhar, Prof. Suchismita, Dr. Ankeshwar Prakash, Prof. Mahabir Ranga, Dr. Deepak Rai Babbar, Dr. Ramesh Sirohi, Dr. Ramchandra, Dr. Ajaib Singh, Dr. Neeraj Batish, Dr. Gurcharan, Dr. Ajay Agarwal, OSD to VC Pawan Rohila, Dr. Deepak Sharma, Dr. Kuldeep Arya were present.
