Quarterly Meeting of Hindi Implementation Committee Held at AMU

Aligarh, December 5: The quarterly meeting of Aligarh Muslim University’s (AMU) Hindi Implementation Committee was held today in the Selection Committee Room, chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Naima Khatoon (President, Official Language Hindi Implementation Committee). The agenda focused on the annual program outlined by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, and discussions on promoting and implementing the use of Hindi within the university.

Highlighting the university’s efforts, the Vice Chancellor stated that several initiatives have been undertaken by AMU to encourage the use of Hindi in official work.

Discussions were held on preparing an action plan for training university employees in Hindi and providing incentives to those excelling in compliance with Official Language Rules. The members deliberated on measures to further enhance the use of Hindi in administrative and academic activities.

Dr. Chhabila Kumar Meher, Deputy Director of the Implementation Committee (Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India), attended the meeting as a special guest. He emphasised key strategies for advancing the use and spread of Hindi as the official language.

Hindi Officer Mr. Asadullah Khan presented a detailed overview of the rules pertaining to the Official Language Hindi. He also apprised the Vice Chancellor and other members of the progress and challenges in implementing the Official Language policy across the university.

The meeting was attended by Prof. M. Ashiq Ali, Chairman Department of Hindi and Secretary Official language (Hindi) Implementation Committee; Prof. Arif Nazir, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Member of the Official Language (Hindi) Implementation Committee; Prof. Mohammad Mohsin Khan, Finance Officer; Mr. Mujib Ullah Zuberi, Controller of Examinations; and Member Official Language (Hindi) Implementation Committee, Mr. Omar Peerzada (Public Relations Officer).

The session concluded with a collective resolve to strengthen the implementation of official language policies at AMU, reflecting the university’s commitment to promoting Hindi in alignment with the directives of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
